Second Wind Band is a 6-piece Motown, Beach Music, Soul band from Lynchburg, VA. The band formed in 2022 when the 4-piece band, "Close Enough", who had been performing for six years, decided to add horns. The band developed a playlist designed to make people want to dance, including Motown and Soul classics, Beach Music favorites and 60's hits. Since that time, they have added songs from the 70's including Earth Wind and Fire's "September" and more contemporary tunes like Bruno Mars "Uptown Funk". Their brand of entertainment fuses memorable songs with a solid beat that features vocal harmonies and brass lines.
Second Wind has received rave reviews like this one for a Kentucky Derby Party sponsored by the Academy Center for the Arts in Lynchburg:
